Spinnakers reopening 2020
Spinnakers 2020 Post Labor Day
We are still in the never-ending Phase III, which of course mandates the continuance of certain dining and ice cream options during these restricted times (details below).
After Labor Day there will be a significant change to our operating schedule. Beginning Tuesday, September 8th, we will only be open on weekends; Saturday & Sunday. This change is not due to a lack of business, but rather a lack of staffing to support a seven day schedule. Sadly, we are not the only restaurant, or any business for that matter, experiencing these employment shortages. But we have been particularly vulnerable given our historically younger staff.
We are very pleased that we have been able to continue our service this season un-interrupted. We feel that our policies, discipline and responsible staff that follow the rules inside and outside of work for our success. However, now there are school quarantines, school bans on employment, lack of rapid testing when there is second-hand exposure from school or sports teams and the continued ban on exchange students. This reduced staffing capacity makes it impossible for us to offer our normal standards of service and quality on a daily basis at this time. We know many of you will be disappointed in this news, but moving to weekends is for the best at this point in the season. We’ve had a respectable season so far despite all the challenges thanks to your support and look forward to finishing strong with weekend service.
Food will continue to be available for take-out only as the Dining Room will remain closed this season.
You may place your order and pay here on our website, utilizing our contactless payment system, and will be available for curbside pickup. Phone orders and walk-ups are always welcome. We ask that you please wear a mask while ordering. If you are picking up curbside, please call us once you are here at 423-3077, and we will bring it to you. Outdoor seating is available, but we do not take reservations - it is assigned. Please check in at the take-out window for availability and to be escorted to a table.
Ice cream will still be available at our traditional service window. We have added new signage and erected stanchions for proper traffic flow to maintain social distancing while ordering. We would ask that you please wear your mask while in line and at the window for everyone’s safety.
We will continue to only serve individual cones and cups – NO TOPPINGS, SUNDAES, SHAKES. We need to keep the line as streamlined as possible for social distancing, and also because we simply cannot have as many workers in our ice cream area for staff distancing purposes.
However, you may still order take-out pints and quarts by calling us (423-3077) at least an hour ahead of time and we will bring it out curbside.
We appreciate your patience and patronage!
